Biography of the artist:

Fernando Martínez Checa (Requena, Valencia, 1858 - Baeza, /Jaén 1933). Spanish painter and professor.

Specialised in oil and watercolour painting and flower vases and landscape watercolour. One of his works, ‘Baños flotantes en la ría de Huelva’ (1897) is exhibited at Huelva provincial museum. Other works are at the Fine arts museum of Córdoba, where an opaque watercolour on paper titled ‘Las ermitas de Córdoba’ is kept; and at the Real Academia de Bellas Artes in San Fernando.
