Beautiful and rare original albumen print, portrait of a group of hunters who captured a crocodile, Egypt.

Very expressive, framed under mat with crystal protection sheet, near perfect blacks and contrast.
Titled and signed at the bottom of the image.
Label on the back with the references of the work.

Exceptional sale of 50 photograph from a private collection, all protected under mat, all in exceptional condition and protected from light to avoid damage to the photographs.

The Zangaki brothers were two Greek photographers, active in 1870-1875 and 1880-1899, specialising in historical scenes and ancient Egypt. They occasionally worked with Hippolyte Arnoux, a French photographer who lived in Port-Said.
They were located in Port-Said and Cairo, and their photographs are very popular among collectors for their expressive liveliness, very representative of the daily lives of Egyptians.
