The Amarone Classico Brigaldara is the result of an agricultural history that began at the dawn of the thirteenth century, when the name Brigaldara appears for the first time in some notarial deeds to designate a halfdrile background intended for the cultivation of vines, mixed with orchards and cereals. The modern history of the production of Brigaldara, however, began at the beginning of the last century, with the total conversion of the land to viticulture and the beginning of the vinification of the grapes owned.
Today Brigaldara is a prominent reality in the productive landscape of Valpolicella, with about 50 hectares of vineyards and a splendid fifteenth-century villa with converted stables and cellars for the drying of grapes and vinification. The proprietary vines are subjected to entirely manual treatments, while every intervention in the field is focused on achieving a perfect vegetative-productive balance of the plants and an optimal ripening of the grapes. Brigaldara's flagship product is Amarone Classico, created from a careful selection of the grapes in the vineyard and from a very rigorous management of the end. The grapes dedicated to the production of Amarone are chosen based on the best exposure of the vineyards. The set-aside of the grapes is preceded by a very careful selection in the vineyard, aimed at eliminating the damaged bunches and those that do not have the ideal characteristics for a high quality drying.
The grapes are subjected to a drying of about 120 days, at the end of which the vinification takes place, structured in such a way as to favor the transfer by the skin of all the most important noble components during the evolutionary phase. Following this rigorous process, the Amarone Classico Brigaldara is linked to traditional production methods, refining only in large wood barrels, capable of making wine evolve in the three years of aging without distorting its aromatic profile.
