Antoine Liesens - Popart girl from Paris

Description
Antoine Liesens - Popart girl from Paris
Acrylic on canvas - Signed - 2018

Painting by professional Dutch / Belgian artist.

Antoine paintings are a fresh new kind of pop art. His work draws on a wide range of influences. Antoine makes clear references to Warhol, using cinematic and contemporary techniques for filtering colour and overlaying images. His work speaks of transcontinental hippeness and glamour. This by clever use of modernist abstraction and figuration, sometimes tending towards non-objective painting. Antoine places camouflage between the ground and the foreground. In this way a rich underground is created that slowly reveals itself. The space of the image is complex and informed by a kind of "field space" that is rarely combined, and so effectively seen with images of glamour and fashion. In this space, Antoine makes good use of bright colours, which offer both subtle and stark impressions of figuration. Is influenced by the pioneers of pop art, but works with the techniques of today, and have the perspective of tomorrow.
