Emmanuel Villanis 1858-1914
Made mainly of bronze, sometimes chryselephantine, his sculptures subtly has the mark of Art Nouveau, including the lettering of the title, which regularly adorns the base. His work on the patinas adds further to the finesse of the line, making Villanis one of the major sculptors of Art Nouveau.

Complete with the chain connecting the arm of the slave.
In very good condition, old patina.
Signed "E. Villanis" on the arm
Title "Capture" on the base
Circular stamp mark: "Vrai bronze garanti Paris" on the back
