H.Th. Wijdeveld; D.W. van Royen. Wendingen 5/1 - Amsterdam, De Hooge Brug, 1923 - 1st edition - 18 pp. plus endpapers. Cover in stereotype after a drawing by Jac. Jongert; photos by Bernard Eilers - 33 × 33 cm. Special English hardcover deluxe edition of only 50 copies.
Stained-glass designs by Richard Roland Holst, teacher and later director of the Rijksacademie voor Beeldende Kunst in Amsterdam. With designs for the auditorium of the Lyceum in Amsterdam and for the stairwell of the post office in Haarlem.
Noteworthy: first issue with renewed typography and design of the title page by Wijdeveld. The typography of the endpapers (unique for the deluxe editions) was also done by him.
Fairly good condition, but ex-library. Covers slightly smudged with some wear along the edges. The spine is worn but intact. Binding with rope (as usual with the deluxe editions) in very good condition. Interior good to very good, but with a library stamp on most pages (Openbare Leeszaal en Bibliotheek Reuvens, Leiden). Note in pen on page 3, but otherwise no writing.
