Oil on canvas depicting an interior with neoclassical scene, signed G. Sciuti on bottom left.
From a private collection.
This work leads us back to his production of large commissioned works and his enrapture for neoclassical scenography.
In this painting appears the clear necessity of Sciuti to associate the decorative and colourist element with the Macchiaiola experience of which Sciuti was enamoured.
From the analysis of the fir wood stretcher and the type of canvas, in our opinion, the work can be attributed to a Sicilian commission for one of the important villas in which the artist worked his art.
In fair condition, Wood’s lamp has shown small restorations of small tears.
Old woodworm holes on the stretcher.
Antique frame, slightly damaged in some areas, with missing parts, as shown in the photos.
First canvas and coeval stretcher.
Upon verification with solvents, the work is authentic in its entirety with a coeval signature.
After these tests we can confirm the authenticity of the work, with a certificate of authenticity from our gallery with photos, as required by the law.
