Imao Keinen published a set of four volumes with the title ‘Keinen Kacho Gafu’ , ‘Bird and Flower albums by Keinen’. with 160 different birds in different seasonal settings . The album set is regarded as Keinen’s most important contribution to Japanese print art. The prints represent a pinnacle of the Shin Hanga movement. The prints were bound together shown by the binding holes on the right of this print. The engraver of the woodblocks, Tanaka Jirokichi , showed great professional skill.
The print is in a very good state.. Very vivid colours and fine impression. Paper in very good condition, no wrinkles or flaws. The print is not backed.
