Of pear-shaped form raised on four heavy cast decorated foot. Domed Lid with trumpet flower finial. The body is panelled with foliate engraving around a vacant cartouche to opposing central panels. Crested and insulated handle.
This pattern was very popular in the second quarter of the nineteenth century - although this may be later.
Marked to base - Shaw & Fisher' over 'Sheffield'. This dates the Teapot between 1833 - 1894.
In remarkably good used condition with tiny dents. . Engraving still crisp. Handle firm. Hinge good and the lid closes flat. Clean inside.
