Julius Perger is a contemporary and colleague of J.G.Hameter with a solid reputation, specializing in construction projects and bridges. He is a German photo pioneer who had settled in The Hague.
Due to the printing technique used in albumen printing, which protects his photos from discoloration, his work still looks modern today.
The photo presented is an albumen print using a photomechanical process: the paper was coated with protein dissolved in water mixed with salt and a silver nitrate solution. Colour: Sepia.
