William ROBSON (1868-1952

Robson was born in Edinburgh, the youngest son of Earl Sinclair. He studied at ECA and in Paris. In 1888. He lived and painted in Venice and Florence and married an Italian. He returned to Edinburgh in 1900 and has exhibited regularly. He was president of the Scottish society of artists. In 1904, he moved to Kirkcudbright, where he met Hornel and other artists who work in the region
The style of painting that he developed in Italy is replaced by a more Scottish style.
