KiKa stands for Children cancer free. In the Netherlands, there are hundreds of children diagnosed with cancer every year, one in four children doesn't survive. KiKa believes that this should improve and can improve. Kika raises funds for innovative research and other activities in the field of children's cancer, focused on less pain during treatments, more healing, and a higher quality of life at a later stage.
For this initiative of KiKa no less than fifty photographers visited children with cancer or children who have had cancer. Their special meeting has led to an exquisite collection of unique photos which can be obtained exclusively at Catawiki from 3 to 24 April, where the full proceeds including 9% buyer commission will be donated to KiKa and the Prinses Máxima Centre in Utrecht.
During the initial conversation between Rosanne and Micky, Rosanne told about herself, her illness and told she was now "clean" of cancer for a year. Clean, that was the word that Micky chose for Rosanne. Clean of cancer but also clean as in beautiful.
Rosanne is the perfect muse for Micky. A beautiful classic face. She reminded her of Rembrandt and Botticelli. Rosanne came up with the word light. She does a lot with light and makes beautiful candles which she sells for KiKa.
She is called by the light, the light supports her. In a dark room you just need a candle to light the entire space. Equally so in life. Rosanne is a candle.
