KiKa stands for Children cancer free. In the Netherlands, there are hundreds of children diagnosed with cancer every year, one in four children doesn't survive. KiKa believes that this should improve and can improve. Kika raises funds for innovative research and other activities in the field of children's cancer, focused on less pain during treatments, more healing, and a higher quality of life at a later stage.
For this initiative of KiKa no less than fifty photographers visited children with cancer or children who have had cancer. Their special meeting has led to an exquisite collection of unique photos which can be obtained exclusively at Catawiki from 3 to 24 April, where the full proceeds including 9% buyer commission will be donated to KiKa and the Prinses Máxima Centre in Utrecht.
On my first high school day my neighbour made flamingo’s with nail polish on my nails: a blue background with a pretty pink for the flamingos From then I started to collect flamingos. Four years ago, I saw them for the first time in the wild, at the airport of Montpellier. "I was so happy that I just laughed the whole flight."
