RICART SERRA, Manuel – Barcelona 1913 – 2014 –
He studied in the Escuela de la Lonja in Barcelona. He took part in different activities of the Círculo Artístico and the one of Sant Lluc, and he carried out numerous advertising works, as well as posters and illustrations, collaborating with magazines such as “L’Esquella de la Torratxa” and “L’Humanitat”. In 1933 he was awarded with the silver medal from the Josep Masriera competition, of the Academy of Fine Arts of Sant Jordi. OIn 1932 he took part in the Salón de los Evolucionistas. He debuted individually in Galerías Syra (1941) After that he would reiterate his presence in the most prominent rooms of Madrid and Barcelona, and in 1964 an anthological exhibition would be dedicated to him, newly in the Syra Galleries. Among his awards are the Special Masía Catalana Prize (1934) and the Village of Palamós (1974).
