SANVISENS MARFULL, Ramón – Barcelona 1917 – 1987

In 1944 he held his first individual exhibition in the Galerías Españolas in Barcelona. The following year he moved to Paris, where he studied Van Gogh, Cézanne, Gaugin and Bonnard. In 1946 he obtained a grant to travel to The Netherlands and study Rembrandt, Vermeer and Hals. He came back a year later to Barcelona and he obtained a job as a teacher in the Escuela de Bellas Artes de Sant Jordi. Already fully consecrated, he held exhibitions in prominent art galleries in Barcelona, such as Barcino, Syra, Rovira, La Pinacoteca and Noucents, as well as in Igualada, Sitges, and the Italian city of Bologna. After his death in 1987, a tribute was dedicated to him in the Círculo Artístico de Sant Lluc.
