Els van der Monde (1942)
Els van der Monde, who attended the Academy of Fine Arts St. Joost in Breda, Photography Department, essentially makes free work with which she exhibits on regularly.
With the photo "Ode aan de meisjes van Verkade" she was nominated in 1999 for the ABC Photo-year award, chaired by Paul Huf. This photos belongs to the series of black and white still lifes of utensils in a new context. The aesthetic alienation offers a surprising view on objects from everyday life.
In the period 1980-1995 Els van der Monde visited many cities in Europe. A selection from these travel- and architectural photos brought a series of black/white photos, in which humans appear as ‘small creatures'. She puts it as follows: "The size of mankind in front of the immense architecture that he himself has created"
Photo and mat are loose. Both have been signed.
