Weapon books flourished in the 15th and 16th century and came a cult object relating to the court life. This was the time of the medieval tournaments. These woodcuts come from the renowned work of Paul Hector Maier about the Knights of Augsburg.

A fine example of a renaissance print still with one feet in the middle ages with Knights and castles, feudal rulers and vassals.
