The Russian artist /graphic designer Oleg Zinger (1909-1998) is at the heart of this beautiful Art Deco design and a great example of a promotional poster. Zinger delivered the original as commissioned by the London underground in 1933, for which he also delivered a very nice chameleon. The idea was to put bus and tube connections to the London Zoo in the spotlight. The ring-tailed lemur is looking to the left instead of right on this poster, the same as on the Antwerp 'mirrored' version.

Oleg Zinger was a contemporary French-Russian painter (1910-1998).
From an early age he had an interest in nature and animals, a passion
which continued to grow after his many visits to the zoological park of Moscow, he started drawing and meets the painter Watagin who gives painting lessons at the zoo. Oleg Zinger worked at different Berlin advertising agencies in the 30s and 40s, such as Dychoff. He was commissioned to create the (later also award-winning) advertisements for London underground in 1929.
