In this print he captures perfectly the atmosphere of a landscape at the mouth of one of the large Dutch rivers. The city view in the background is probably after life.
Franz Edmund Weirotter ( 1733 - 1771)
Painter, draughtsman and etcher. Born Innsbruck 1733, died Vienna 1771. Trained Vienna. Paris 1759-63, then to Rome, to Vienna 1767 as professor at academy of engraving. Early sources always mention his restless character and constant movement.
