Steidl, Göttingen. 2010. First edition, first printing.
Sought-after, quickly sold-out documentation of the items owned by Michael Jackson, photographed by Henry Leutwyler, real treasures and real stuff from his Neverland Ranch. These pictures describe the inner turmoil of a man who wanted to live like Peter Pan - the boy who never grows up.
Hardcover with bellyband (as issued). 96 pages. Text in english.
Book inside and outside new, mint, unread. Bellyband a bit teared and crease, but complete. Overall very fine condition.
At first, the photographs seem to document something that does not concern the viewer. On closer inspection, these still lifes become intimate portraits in the absence of the person being portrayed and allow deep insights into an incomparable soul. Leutwyler brings Michael Jackson, the boy driven out of his paradise, back down to earth - with a look at the tools of his fame and other legacies.
