THE DECAMERON or TEN DAY'S ENTERTAINMENT OF BOCCACCIO, a revised translation by W K Kelly. It was published in 1868 by Bell & Daldy, London.

It is set as a series of novellas structured as a frame story containing 100 tales told by a group of seven young women and three young men sheltering in a secluded villa just outside Florence to escape the Black Death, which was afflicting the city. B/w illustration of Boccaccio to the frontispiece.

Half light brown leather on marbled hardboards. 5 gilt raised bands, black leather title block and gilt lettering to the spine. Corners and edges are worn but the boards are firm and the pages are tight and clean. 545pp, 18.5 x 12.5 cm.
