2012 Château Puy Mouton, Saint-Emilion Grand Cru
Vintage Score 2012 - Bordeaux, Red : 15/20
A beauty of a Bordeaux. This sublime Château Puy Mouton Grand Cru Saint-Emilion is beautifully bright ruby red in color. A wine with a promising spicy nose and fruity notes of blackberries, black currants and cherries. Complex and full flavor of red fruit, herbs, spices, vanilla and wood. Thanks to the special treatment of 12 months in oak, the wine has got its nice balance and the tannins have become very soft. The wine has a long fruity finish with a hint of vanilla.
Château Puy Mouton enjoys a quite outstanding situation on the south ridge of Saint - Emilion, on magnificent clay-and-limestone soils. Its magnesian subsoil is mainly made up of cold clay, which give the wine a great complexity and elegance typical of the great Saint-Emilion wines.
A sustained crimson colour. Very fresh and red berry aromas with hints of spices and a touch of oak. Elegant on the palate, lovely attack, good length and complexity. An extremely elegant, well-balanced wine.
