Paul Bury met Christian Dotremont and Pierre Alechinsky, founders of the CoBrA group, in 1947. He became part of this movement from 1948 to 1951.
In 1952, Pol Bury was one of the founders of the ‘Art Abstrait’ group (abstract art group) which was more suited to his artistic aspirations at the time. At that time, he admired and studied the work of Mondrian and some of his paintings are close to the style of Miro.
