Amazing pair of Napoleon III candelabras, from the late 19th / early 20th centuries.
Very beautiful, small sized, very detailed and well made. There’s a crystal drop hanging under each arm. Suitable for a very elegant table setting or an outstanding console table.Width among arms: 20 cm.
The black marble base rests on two front lion’s paw feet. The applications on the base front show some floral engravings.
The round base of both candelabras rests on the black marble base. The stem is made up of a black marble conic cylinder, inside a brass framework, embellished with two stylized swans. On top of the stem there is a small brass plate which holds the four arms, each with a brass bobeche and a crystal drop hanging under it. The richly decorated upper part of both candelabras shows a fifth arm with a bobeche and candle holder. Each candelabra, therefore, has 5 lights. It is not easy to find a small sized 5-light candelabra: the small ones have usually 4 lights and the 5 light ones are usually larger! They were displayed on a small console table in Empire style. Both can be electrified.
In good condition. Both can be polished.
Seller made some pictures of both candelabras on the console table and other pictures outdoors, under the natural light.
Suitable for any kind of settings.
The back of the marble is flat.
