Katana, Sword - Steel, Wood - Japanese Long Sword Samurai Katana with RARE Hamon - Japan - 18th century

Late 18th century Japanese Katana blade in fine traditional polish, one small stain spot near the habaki on one side and also one lose grain (kizu), as pictured.

The blade showing well executed dense hada, the temperline is RARE, finely done strong and powerful Sudare-ba Hamon, a very nice and elegant pattern, also making the boshi beautiful and special.

The tang is mumei. unshortened with visible file marks, age patination.

The blade is housed in quality old shirasaya with horn fitting, double copper habaki.
