In original bakelite case with accessories and inspection report.
A heavy micrometer sextant of C. Plath Hamburg in beautiful condition. Is neatly used with few tracks. The arc runs from -5 to + 125 degrees. The micrometer is divided into 60 minutes. The heavy frame is cast in aluminium. Perpendicular index mirror. The index mirror is whole and without flaws. There are four sun filters (shades) from light to dark. The horizon mirror and the three filters are without errors. Lighting works well. The legs of the sextant are straight. The viewfinder is from Plath and has a magnification of 4 x and a pupil size of 40mm. Image and visibility are excellent, clear and full of contrast. Lens parts are coated and undamaged. The sextant is fully adjusted. The condition of the sextant is excellent. The sextant is transported in a large (and heavy) dark brown bakelite box. The box is undamaged. The sextant is sandwiched with a spring in a holder for the handle. The box is lockable with key (attached). There is an official inspection report of Observator Rotterdam of 1990. In short a good and reliable quality sextant by a top brand. In original condition, in bakelite box and with certificate, brush and the necessary key for correction of the mirrors.
