Description
Vally Wieselthier - Vally Wieselthier Workshop - Teapot (1) - Earthenware
North America - Early 20th century

Vally Wieselthier was a student of Josef Hoffmann and Koloman Moser. She designed work for the Wiener Werkstätte from 1912. In 1928, she emigrated to the U.S.A. From then on she worked from her own studio for the Contempora Group and the Sebring pottery Company.

This teapot with a quirky design [the "beak" on the front] was characteristic of the humorous style that Wieselthier incorporated in her designs. The teapot is glacé earthenware in the colours brown and dark brown.
