The Ferrari Hydroplane was the brainchild of Achille Castoldi, who designed a racing boat for Enzo Ferrari, in order to beat the speed of the Lamborghini boats.

The engine, a 4.5 l V12 that produced 502 hp, achieved a speed record of more than 150 mph on Lake Iseo. To this day, this is still the record for a boat of 800 kg.
