Chinese silver corvette Qing dynasty 緝捕巡船 with wooden pedestal
Silver corvette from the year 1898 from German collectors.
Approx. 12 cm high - 10 cm long - 2 cm deep and approx. 72 grams, original wooden box from the year 1898 for transport - approx. 14 cm x 14 cm x 8 cm
His grandfather was employed as sergeant for a monthly salary of 700 Mark per month from 1895 to 1898 by the so-called "self-empowerment army", a training army for educating Chinese officers and soldiers.
His superior was Governour-General Liu Kunyi. On this occasion, sergeants received this wooden box with a miniature corvette made of silver.
Has not been made since 1900.
With significant signs of wear, very decorative condition.
