Up for auction today, this 1/48 scale F-86 made by Franklin Mint.
F-86E-10 LADY FRANCES was the personal mount of five-kill ace Major Bill Wescott, who named it after his wife. He scored a pair of MiG-15's over MIG Alley on April 13th 1952 while flying this plane.
More famously this plane was flown on a number of occasions by Col. Francis 'Gabby' Gabreski while he was the CO of the 51st FIW. Gabby added 4.5 MiG kills to his score card bringing his Korean War record to 6.5. He was credited with shooting down 2 MiG's earlier while flying with the 4th FW out of Kimpo. This item is brand new and comes with original box and outer box. Paperwork are stilll sealed!!
