Scallywag on a wooden base. The figure has the signature Gamboge on the back and is marked with GvP 677: It is made after an example of the original by Gamboge by the Amsterdam brothers van Paridon.
The van Paridon Brothers made classical art in their studio from 1905 to 1920 and then continued with more religious art. During that period they often worked in the well-known green colour with bronze and gold accents.
The sculptures were made of paridur, a mix of plaster and resins. This figure is in very good condition and is 15 cm high and 8.5 cm wide.
