2006 Château Villars A.O.C. Bordeaux - Fronsac - Bordeaux - 9 Bottles (0.75L)

Description
2006 Château Villars A.O.C. Bordeaux - Fronsac - Bordeaux - 9 Bottles (0.75L)
Red wine - France

The history of Château Villars goes back to the beginning of the 19th century, to a time when Fronsac wines were more appreciated than those of the neighbouring appellation Pomerol. Now in its seventh generation, Thierry Gaudrie runs the Château, which covers 28 hectares of vineyards, and has led it to the top of the appellation in recent years. The 40-year-old vines (73% Merlot, 18% Cabernet Franc, 9% Cabernet Sauvignon), which grow on clayey and calcareous soil, produce a densely fruity, tannin-fine and elegant wine at an extremely respectable price. A real alternative to the often overpriced prestige wines, especially in the great Bordeaux years.
