Description
Zushi/Traveling Shrine - Wood - Antique Japanese Traveling Shrine (Signed) - Japan - Edo Period (1600-1868)
Very good condition, see description - 24×9×11 cm

Up for auction here fantastic, highly detailed and carved antique traveling shrine. Detailed metal trim on the front doors. Wooden case. Case figure can be taken out of the shrine. The statue is signed on the back as seen in the photos. There appear to be 3 characters or kanji. I can make out the first two as: 淺子 ..... the third character I can't make out. In looking over the item I cannot detect any chips, cracks or repairs. There are losses to the gilt and paint as seen in photos. The laquer on the case itself has flaked off in some areas which is normal due to great age.
