This edition of the little Amarone plays out all the trumps of an Appassimento wine and presents itself in quality and performance uniquely rich in aromas, fragrances and soft tannins, with a persistent finish of red fruits and spices.
"Masis double fermentation. Wine from fresh grapes ferments once again on 25% whole, dried (about 6 weeks) grapes of the same grape varieties. This second fermentation lasts about 15 days at 18-20° C. This is followed by malolactic and final fermentation. The wine thus experiences an increase in alcohol content, colour, extract, soft and fine tannins and is enriched by further aromas and fragrances.
The wine is aged for 18 months in wood, 2/3 in 90 hl Slovenian oak barrels and 1/3 in Slovenian and Allier oak barrels, after which it is aged for at least 3 months in the bottle."
