Hand-colored ink drawing - Paper - Shunga - Phallic contest - Japan - Meiji period (1868-1912)

This beautifully painted ink drawing, completely in the style of Jichosai, is made after part of his ink drawings The Phallic Contest.

These kind of images prove that there was great interest in large penises in the Edo period. At the same time, they offer an ironic look at such a fascination.

Condition: some discolouration, stains, spots. Glued on cardboard. The measurements of the passe-partout are 64 x 42 cm. Please see the photos.

Will be packaged with care and shipped by registered and insured mail.
