Verdegaal (1965) was educated at the Schoonhoven Professional School (1981-1986), the Royal Academy of Visual Arts in The Hague (1986-1987) and at the Gerrit Rietveld Academy in Amsterdam (1987-1992). Her work is inspired by Japan, among others. She regularly processes old items of jewellery in her jewellery. She works and lives in Amsterdam.
