Japan - Unokubi Zukuri Hamon - Katana very long - Katana - Sabre, Sword

Traditional Japanese sword of forge

The Thaitsuki Hoso Kumiage katana is a mono steel katana with a high carbon steel blade tempered to an edge hardness of 60-63 HRC and a body hardness of 30-33 HRC. At the edge of the blade you can see a wavy steel hamon with a lighter shade, perfect for cutting practice.

The tsuka handle is wrapped in striped leather and covered with a Japanese tsuka-ito silk cord. The menuki flower, made of bronze, is found under the tsuka-ito. The Habaki, the Seppa, the Kashira and the Fuchi are also handmade in bronze. These bronze accessories, if allowed to oxidize, will leave a distinctive patina of ancient appearance in the katana's accessories.

The wooden scabbard is covered with black lacquer and has bronze accessories. The mouth of the pod, the Koiguchi, is equipped with buffalo horn. A sageo rope is knotted to the scabbard. The sword comes with a silk sword bag and a production certificate.
