It was used as a means of payment. A moko has the form of a drum, it is also named moko drum. Mokos were not really used as musical instruments, these mainly served as a status symbol and as part of the dowry. The four grips on the upper part are characteristic.
After the war, this heirloom was brought back to the Netherlands by my great grandparents.
