Louis Kalff model Timor 69 for Philips Holland.
This impressive lamp was designed by Louis Kalff (1897-1976) in the 50s and was produced by Philips with model name Timor 69. The outside of the shade is varnished matte black, beautifully combined with the golden colour of the stand. The inside has a light colour to enhance the reflection of the light. The lamp is marked with the Philips logo. Due to the sleek lines and minimalist design, this lamp still has a modern look. A beautiful and quirky lamp that fits any contemporary interior.
Louis Kalff has designed many iconic lamps for Philips. He also was the designer of the world-renowned Philips logo. Besides being a designer, Louis Kalff was also a successful architect. His architectural masterpiece is the Philips "Evoluon" exhibition centre which was realised in Eindhoven in 1966.
