regulatory rifle East India compagny model P 42 pattern E lion marking on lock, imported to the United States for material requirements during the civil war (see attached invoice), very good general condition of wood and mechanical parts, frank percussion, perfect and removable chimney, forged rod and brass trim. This weapon was re-used as a commemorative piece for the 29th N.Y.V.I.R. Veterans (New York Volunteer Infantry regiment) for the commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the battle of Chancellorsville (see descriptive sheet), a rosette was added on the strap with in its center the number of the regiment and an insert in the butt of a piece in brass with the U.S. regulatory acronym (approx. 4.5 cm diameter). The buyer will have a copy of the purchase document dated 1971
