Alexander Calder - ZETA da l'Alfabeto

Description
Alexander Calder - ZETA da l'Alfabeto
three-color photolithography - BolaffiArte Exemplary 4306/5000 - 1974

The photolithograph at auction, ‘Zeta’, signed in pencil at the bottom right and numbered on back, shows the dry stamp of BolaffiArte on the left, to guarantee the authenticity of both the signature and the work. No artist before Alexander Calder, in the millenary history of art, had come to this real modern conquest of giving sculpture a fourth dimension: the temporal dimension of movement in space. He is considered one of the greatest artists of the 20th century.
The work was published on the cover of the no. 40 of BolaffiArte, May 1974 (1973), see pictures attached.
Published on the Catalogue created for the exhibition ‘Le Copertine di BolaffiArte’, held in the stables of the Royal Palace of Naples in December 2000, p. 20 (see pictures attached).
