The Beatles– Magical Mystery Tour/now 50 years in red !
The last recordings for the album Sgt.Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band dragged on until April 1967,followed immediately after the recordings to the EP between April 25 /Nov.2,1967,a total of twelve songs were recorded during this time,so also the opportunity existed to complete the album with new songs.
The recordings were no longer exclusively in the Abbey Road Studios, the Beatles dodged in the Olympic Studios,Chappell Studios and De Lane Lea Studios.
The concept proved successful.
The album reached the first place on the US Billboard charts and held this position for eight wees, making it the eleventh number one album. On December 15,67 the album was awarded a Golden Record.
By Christmas 67,already 1.5 million units of the album had been sold.
In Japan,the album was released in December 1968 in stereo,the record was also pressed on red vinyl.
