Kushan sculpture, representing the head of the historic Buddha “Siddharta Gautama” with a haircage that is typical for the period. During the early Buddhist Kushan sculpture the Buddha figure was developed, from which "the characteristics of a large and noble being", the “mahapurusha lakshana”, whose base is the very old representation of the forest spirit "yaksha", formed the basis of the concept.
