Jn. Edmonds - A London watchmaker was active around 1740
Collector's watch with repousse case of the finest quality - depicting a royal scene.
The watch has a silver repousse exterior casing of very fine and beautiful quality and in excellent condition.
High relief work. Silver push button to open
Incredible condition for a more a watch of more than 300 years old!
Inner casing is also silver. Hallmarked.
Fine Champleve dial with Roman numerals as well as outer running minute markers with applied Arabian 5-piece-steel. Edmonds is inscribed on the name cartouche. On the left is an angel, and on the right is a bearded man.
Overall, the watch is in very good condition-the wind is over the back.
Winding key is included.
Movement folds out near the six.
Labelled fire gold-plated high movement - verge escapement and a fusée-and-chain movement in working order (timekeeping not tested) - made around 1740. Lovely plate.
Nice round pillars. Fine and unusual spindle cock - floral with interesting two-sided connection. Silver disc for speed regulation.

Watch diameter 52 mm - height 27 mm - total length with pendant 68 mm - weighs 96 g. - Very attractive shape.
