The last book to be illustrated by Rackham. Grahame himself originally approached Rackham to illustrate his book but at that time it could not be managed. It was thirty years later that Rackham finally consented. The pictures were finished just as World War II broke out and were originally published in America by the Limited Editions Club.
This nice and lovely edition of ‘The Wind in the Willows’ features 12 lovely colour plates including frontispiece by Arthur Rackham. 15 line drawings. An introduction by A. A. Milne. Published by Methuen, London, 1968. Hardcover edition with illustrated dust jacket. Publisher’s original emerald green cloth covers, gilt title and author block lettering to the spine.
