On 19 February 1989, in the year of the 150th anniversary of the Dutch Railways of the NS, a record attempt was undertaken to create the longest passenger train in the world. Locomotive 1607 "Vlissingen" hauled a train consisting of 60 ICR-carriages from the marshalling yard at Kijkhoek to Eindhoven.
