Description
Mask - Wood - Kifwebe -NO RESERVE - Songye - Congo DRC
Late 20th century - Vintage - used with visible signs of wear

Kifwebe female mask
H= 34 cm or 44cm with the custom made stand

I got this mask in my shop from a private person who inherited it. It is not very old in my opinion and probably made for decoration, but it is very sensitively carved.

Female Kifwebe's are much more seldom than the male ones with protruding nose. The female ones are more flat.
