The latest out of Kagoshima's Kanosuke Distillery is their new born, named simply "Kanosuke New Born".Kagoshima New born is a single malt new bone made by cascading whiskey raw liquor distilled in February 2018.
it's been aged for eight months in American white oak ex-shochu casks, those casks that used to contain Komasa Syuzo's Mellow Kozuru brand of aged rice shochu fill with sea breeze smells,finished it into a sweet and gorgeous new bone.Kagoshima New born is a single malt new bone made by cascading whiskey raw liquor distilled in February 2018.
Nose: A basket of tropical fruits also with prunes, salted dates, and maple bread. There's a hint of berry as well -- mostly blackcurrant and raspberry.
Palate: Caramel apples dipped in honey, served with a side of pear. Later on there's a lightly toasted cinnamon and licorice coming through, making this a wonderful choice for the winter season. Smooth and silky.
Finish: The berries make a return, and there's kiwi, met with vanilla and caramel. Anise and more herbal spiciness towards the end.
