A large Delft pleated plate with a backdrop of Chinoiserie, painted in the style of the transitional porcelain in blue and white, dating back to the 17th century. The central nine-sided panel depicts an Oriental figure resting in a garden, surrounded by nine panels with typical images of seated figures alternated with tulips.
This lobed dish is a bulky specimen: no less than 34 cm in diameter and 6 cm high, such formats are quite rare.
Condition: reasonable, the pleated plate is glued, in the front a fault line has been retouched to make it unobtrusive. The fault line runs favourable, namely along the stand ring, see pictures.
The lot will be sent carefully packaged and without any risk of breakage.
