Louis XVI Chiffonnière - Brass, Mahogany - 1790-1800

Louis XVI Chiffonnière - Brass, Mahogany - 1790-1800

This chiffonier was made during the (late) Dutch Louis XVI period about 1790-1800. The chiffonier is made of oak, pine & mahogany wood and lined with beautifully patterned mahogany veneer. The chiffonier has a sleek, simple & sober design and only has the profiled framework and mounting as decoration. The six dovetailed drawers run well and come with the original gilded oval brass drawer handles and entrances. The drawers also still have their original locks and working key. The chiffonier has flat diagonal side styles, a flat plinth and comes with tapering legs at the front. The chiffonier has the expected and non-disturbing wear and tear and some old restorations to the veneer & sides. The chiffonier has a beautiful warm orange-brown colour and is in its authentic wax finishing which has a beautiful silky shine.
